Hey! I said in my last update post that I was going to switch to monthly updates instead of weekly.
It’s been one week and I’m not following that plan. It’s the beginning of September. I’d like my monthly update posts to be around the first of the month. I didn’t want to wait a month and a week to post again. That said, here’s the update!
Oh my goodness – Affiliate earnings did a lot better last week! I’ve earned $11.65 for the past month!
The goal is $50 by the end of the year, so this slight jump makes me feel like it’s attainable.
As for going back over old posts and making them better, I’ve been doing well! I have a total of 83 articles. I’ve revamped 21 of those articles to a point where I am happy with them.
Does anyone use AIOSEO? I know Yoast is a favorite with WordPress. Basically, I can see what my “score” is when it comes to SEO. I was hitting 70-80 without trying much. Now that I’m going back, many of my articles are 100. The goal is higher than 95. This takes a lot of time rewording some things I had previously written. I’m also changing a lot of images.
I read a lot about backlinking. I backlink to myself quite often. It’s tricky because I write 2-3 articles per week and I want some of the older articles to have some of the newer articles’ backlinks, so I’m spending time on that.
I’ve also been reading up about backlinking to more trusted websites so your website will become trusted. I’ve been adding at least one website backlink to every article. If anyone wants to swap backlinks, let me know!
I have to go out of town for work this week so I’m trying to catch up on some writing and not spend so much time on past articles for this week only.
As for the eBook, I did some research! I’m going to start writing first and then create the eBook in Canva, which I love working with so much.
Google doesn’t like me lately and isn’t showing my impressions as much as it was a few week’s ago. However, I did get a single impression on Bing! Yay!
When I posted last Sunday about nobody clicking on my impressions, I received one from Google – Thank you, you magical person. 🦄🦄
I also received two clicks on Baidu in China, which I had to research some to figure out what that was. 🙂
Let’s get to the goals and where I am!
Last week I had 38 Google impressions, which is very much down from the 82 I had the prior week (Yikes). Keeping the faith guys, keeping the faith.
Earned from Affiliate Marketing was $3.97 and is now $13.37!!!
Earned from ads: $0. Still haven’t placed ads, I’ll consider this again soon.
Goal by end of September 2023:
- All articles revamped to adhere to “my new style” of writing – 21 out of 83 done.
- All articles obtain a SEO score of at least 95 – Same – 21 out of 83 done.
Goals by end of December 2023:
- Earn $50 from Affiliate marketing. – Uhhhh – I thought my goal was $100 but this is telling me otherwise. If my goal was originally $50 by end of the year, I’m well on my way! And this ladies and gentlemen, is why we put our goals in writing.
- If not Google Adsense, find another ad placement company to use. – Again, I’ll work on this later – I’ve got a while.
- Create an eBook that I sell on the website. – Researched this some. Looking to start as soon as I finish revamping articles.
- 1,000 search engine impressions per day. – Going in totally the wrong direction guys.
On a personal note, all is good on the home front! I need to start helping my oldest apply for colleges for next year, which I’m kind of not looking looking forward to. I need to stop holding on.
The puppy we have is still a pain in my daily life, but I’m hoping he stops being crazy soon. He can sit, stay, come, and get. Working on “paw!”
