Hi!!

So I schedule at least a couple of blocks of time every day to work on the website. These have consisted of writing articles and getting as much content out as I could as I knew the website was still really new.

In my last update, I talked about taking a break. I should have clarified that this break was a break from writing articles like I have been. Right now, the goal is putting out one article a week, which is a lot less than I had previously been writing. This doesn’t include the update posts as they literally take me 5 minutes to write. 🙂

I’m working my way through the coaching classes I had spoken about before. I’ve also created a new website and I’m planning to move all of my career advice related articles to that website once it’s ready for launch. I’m probably a good month out before I’m ready to launch it.

So here’s the plan, guys…

  • Keep this website as it is. It’s fun and I like that I have a blog section where I can update on the websites’ progress and keep my sanity. I’ll continue to write articles approximately once per week.
  • Launch the career website in December. Move all the new articles over to that website as well as open up a section for career coaching as I finish my certification. (Side note: You don’t need a certification to actually start coaching, but I want one.) Then continue to post an article every 1-2 weeks on the career site.

This sounds so simple when I get it in writing, but there are so many things that you have to work on behind the scenes.

I spent some time researching competitors this morning. I’m being kind of slow opening the site as I want to make sure I get it right.

Time is something I most definitely have on my side. There’s no rush to any of this.

October 2023 Review of Income

October was a great month due to some ads I ran. There are no more ads running so everything I’m now getting is organic traffic and it’s pretty slow.

Income: $59.01

Goals

Goals by end of December 2023:

  • Earn $100 in 2023 from Affiliate marketing. – $91.09. We’ll see if I can earn $9 the rest of the year. There was a return on one of the Amazon items sold last month so I’m actually currently in the negative for November.
  • If not Google Adsense, find another ad placement company to use. – Well, looking for something else. However, this is not a current priority. A priority is working on the new site and not letting my writing slip completely.
  • Create an eBook that I sell on the website. – Done. I’m keeping this on the goal sheet until the end of the year so I know I did something great.
  • 100 Google Search Impressions per day – I had 588 impressions for the total month of October, which has been the highest so far. That’s roughly 19 per day so still a far ways from the 100, but this is ticking upwards. I’ve also been gaining an average of one click every few days, which is way better than the 0 I was getting prior. Google actually sent me an email congratulating me on 5 clicks in one month. 😅
  • All articles obtain a SEO score of at least 95 – I think I have 20 left. This is dwindling down to the ones that receive 0 traffic, but I still want to get them updated. Again, priority 1 is the new site and not falling behind on writing so sticking to that.

New Goals!

  • Launch new website by the end of 2023 – cleverher.com
  • Move all career related articles to the new site and figure out how to do redirects so I don’t lose any old links
  • Finish all career coaching classes and obtain certification
  • I’ve researched how to become a Pinterest Mastermind – Now I just need to actually do it. Sometime before the end of the year, I need to get on Tailwind and start dedicating a day a week or so to planning out my pins.

I’m very much putting aside any financial gain and focused on doing something that is meaningful for me. I feel that if I can make this work, a possible side income will come with time. That being said, I still hope I meet the $100 by the end of the year. $90 was still a success if I don’t make a penny more.

My first year ever trying anything like this before and putting myself out there…I’m happy with what is being accomplished.

Yay for holiday season!
