Wow… It’s been a rough couple of months.
First, let’s update on me. I had a kid graduate high school. 🙂 Exciting!
Went on a couple of trips… My last update said I was taking some time off due to the crazy month of May and I did that. I’m now back on track with the website, as determined as ever to keep this dream going.
I did not complete an Income Report for the month of April, but believe me when I say it was pennies so you aren’t missing much if you do care how much I made.
Search Results
Search results are still suffering from when I updated all of the URLs on the website.
Guys… if you have a blog and you’re just starting out, make sure you research and get it exactly how you want it in the beginning. Changes don’t matter in the beginning because you have such a low (if any) amount of searches.
I was finally picking up with search results and ranking top 5 sometimes. And then I decided to bite the bullet and change all my URLs to take the date I wrote the article out.
It pretty much ruined the path I was on. Need a visual? Here you go…
This is the last 12 months of Google searches. You can see that it started picking up around the first of this year. My website was about 8 months old at that point.
Then around 3/15, I updated the URLs and I have absolutely not recovered. I’ve tried figuring out what I can do to fix this and have come up with nothing.
It may have not recovered because I took the end of April/all of May off due to my work and personal schedule. I’m hoping now that I’m getting back to posting regularly it may recover soon…
Keep your fingers crossed guys, because this was the one thing that got me extra excited about the website.
I will say that I tried to get some help off of Fiverr.com from some SEO specialists and none have come to my rescue.
Income in May
Still no ads on the website. And really, there won’t be any ads soon given my horrible visit rate right now after being shunned by Google.
So all of my earnings come from Affiliate links at the moment.

Yikes.
Moving Forward…
I’m concentrating on getting back to posting and not much else.
I thought I was going to be super excited when the website hit one year old about a month ago…but the Google searches got me down.
I will say that I’ve been spending a lot more time on Pinterest and have 55 followers!! I’ve kind of let FB go as I find Pinterest so much more rewarding and fun.
So goal for the month of June – Post 6 articles. Don’t worry about finding more income streams. What I need to concentrate on now is getting the website active again now that my life has slowed down.
