Update #26 – July 2024 Income Report

It’s now August 2024 so I’m sharing with you my July 2024 Blog Income Report!

I’ve had this website, finances4females.com, since March 2023. This is the first attempt at a website I’ve ever had.

I actually decided to start the website after I went to the Eras tour with my two girls.

I remember Taylor Swift singing “The Man” on stage and it just hit me different. I decided that I wanted to try something new. Somehow, that involved into starting my own website a few days later.

Let’s dive in!

July 2024 Traffic

Ok so I’ve come to the conclusion that I am stuck in the Google Sandbox. What’s the Google Sandbox, you ask?

Well according to HubSpot, “The Google sandbox is a filter (which may or may not exist) that supposedly keeps new websites in a probationary period that prevents them from ranking high on Google’s top results.”

Yes, I get that it “may or may not exist”. However, I have to tell myself it exists or I will drive myself insane over the insanely small amount of traffic I receive from Google each day.

My July 2024 Traffic was at 884 TOTAL views.

So I’m blaming this “falling off a cliff” due to being placed in the sandbox that started in very late March.

Social Media Updates

I’m getting so much better at Pinterest!

Since my traffic is greatly down, I’m running a $5 a day ad for the month of August that I just started. I’m hoping that helps generate more traffic to the site.

I’m also pinning more and building up some pin confidence.

I’ve started posting on Facebook again as well, but I am not very active there. Pinterest holds my heart. 💖

Challenges I’ve Faced

Mainly, most of my challenges are in relation to figuring out how to get my website to appear again on search engines.

Right now, I’ve given up on searching for the answer. I’m going to keep posting regularly, focus on pinning on Pinterest, update older posts, and hope for the best.

I did get frustrated last month when I tried to increase the font size on all of my pages. I did something in the beginning with the website and I can’t seem to undo it.

I’m not giving up just yet on getting the font to where I want it to be on my template. You would think this would be easy…

Successes I’ve Had

One HUGE success is finally getting accepted into Google AdSense!!!

I wasn’t really sharing with you guys how much it bothered me that I kept getting rejected.

I was so thrilled when I was accepted that I wrote a whole article on the journey that you can find here.

To sum it up, I was accepted after I had been overlooking something so ridiculously small.

Another success – I wrote four articles in the month of July and I’m looking fantastic for the month of August!

I’ve got a new income stream now that I’m a member of Google AdSense!

August Goals

Post six articles. No more and no less.

I plan to write ten articles, but only post six. I need to start being more organized and scheduling ahead of time. I want to get ahead and not get stressed out if I’m falling behind.

Let’s set a goal to add 4 more Pinterest followers (Total of 60) and 1 more Facebook follower (total of 20) as well!

If I get ten articles written early enough in the month, I want to spend some time looking into a “freebie” I can give away (some sort of digital item) so I can grow my list of email subscribers.

Goals By The End of The Year

#1 Goal – Get out of the Google Sandbox.

That’s my main focus. What can I do right now to get there? Keep working on posting regularly, adding traffic, and update older articles.
