Update #4 On Me!

Hey! So glad you stopped in to read my update.

It’s been a good week! Google searches dipped down a couple of days and then picked back up.

Thanks to a new friend my Facebook has 5 Followers! Woah! Someone on Tumblr also shared one of my articles – Yay!

I’m actually on a much needed vacation right now. Soaking up the California sun.

I’ve really been thinking about the “Reviews” section of the website and how I’d like to take that somewhere. I’m not sure where yet but maybe it’ll turn into reviewing apps that deal with budgeting or organization. I think I could start trying different apps at least and give my overall review as a everyday user.

I’ve written fifty-five articles in about two and a half months. If I keep that up – I’ll have 264 articles by the end of the year – Yeah!

I don’t know that I have 264 topics to write about. I’m actually thinking about going through some of my articles from the first month for a few reasons.

• My writing style has changed. I’ve learned not to use so many large paragraphs as I don’t like reading long paragraphs and I know most of you don’t either. I want the reader to stay engaged.
• My SEO skills aren’t top notch but that beats not knowing what SEO was 2.5 months ago.
• My image collection is a lot larger than it was and some of the images I originally used are way overused.
• I combined a lot of information in original articles that could have been split into more than one. That said, I think if I go back, it will help me actually write more articles about the things I barely touched on that could have been an easy 1,000+ words.

I applied to be an affiliate for a couple of different companies that I would really like to promote. We’ll see if they reach back out and I’ll let you guys know.

People have told me to worry about the feedback I get online – that it could make me want to stop writing because of the negativity. I will say at this point I have received 0 negative feedback and it’s all been extremely positive thanks to YOU.

You have made this journey worth it by reading my articles, commenting, and liking my posts. I’m trying to return this positivity in at least equal amounts.

Update on Google Adsense: Haven’t applied again yet. I’m still waiting on my search results to pick up. I will say that it took two months for some of my posts to show up at all in search results. Now I just need more than one click. 🙂

On my calendar I put “Apply for Google Adsense again” on August 1st, so I’m trying to not think about it until that date. Hopefully by then a few more people are clicking and Google won’t consider me a forever loser.
