It’s been pretty smooth sailing since the last update.
I am freaking killing it at Canva. I’m a Canva mastermind. Ok, so I had to ask my 17 year old daughter one question. I couldn’t figure out how to cut out a circle correctly, so I’ll give her a small amount of my mastermind credit.
I actually had to scale back some as I think I was going overboard. Using it for Pinterest pins is so fun.
I’m going on vacation next week with the family so I’ve been trying to “build up” some posts that are ready to go so I don’t have to work on the website much while I’m gone. I will say it’s very difficult to have posts created and ready to go and not press the “publish” button.
I had my very first search click from Google! I’m not sure who this wonderful person is but I had a small party when I saw someone actually clicked my post after searching for “how to impress your boss”. My ranking has also gotten a lot better. I’m between 30 and 40 on most search results, which I think is fantastic for only being 3ish months old.
Google has only focused on 3-4 of my posts though, so I’m doing some research to see what I can do to improve that.
Also I finally got my logo working on the Jetpack app! This took three separate chats with the WordPress help desk. They asked me to switch my theme for a bit and it actually knocked my website down for two hours without me knowing. I hope Google didn’t notice.
My traffic isn’t picking up very much, but I’m ok with that. I’ve settled on the fact that I need more time under my belt before I can grow too much. I’m glad I’m growing in different ways, like on search engines and a few clicks on Pinterest and FB.
I’m looking into getting certified in career coaching. It’s something I just started thinking about. I’ve been thinking about how the website could benefit me financially. If I ever get approved for Google AdSense, that’s one way…but what else… I know affiliate links could eventually be another source when I gain some more views, but what about other ways? I see others selling different types of “kits of information” on their websites and I don’t think that’s my thing. Never say never, I suppose.
I’m in no hurry to get the career coaching certification done, but I am exploring options.
Right now, I’ve got my list of things I’d like to write about and I’m knocking them out slowly. So far, this is a nice hobby that is occupying some free time that I had – I hope it goes places!
Thanks so much for reading and checking in on me. 🙂
