Hey!

So I got sick over the past week and didn’t spend as much time on the website as I would have liked. I wrote 3 articles and that’s my minimum for a week so at least I stuck to that.

I said last week that I was getting discouraged and looking for someone to help with the website. When I said help, I meant visually help with the website because I felt like it was so bland. I looked around on Fiverr and reached out to someone.

Right after I reached out, I got frustrated with myself. I wondered why I couldn’t just figure this out on my own. I’ve gotten this far without paying anyone to write anything for me, design anything for me, or really do anything at all for me when it comes to the website.

So I started redesigning the homepage. It’s still not what I envision completely, but it is a step in the right direction! I feel pretty good about what I’m learning and what it could look like once I finish with it.

Remember when I said I wasn’t going to apply to Google Adsense until August 1st again after being rejected? Yeah, I did it anyway. I almost made it to August 1st! I’ll update you guys next week if I hear back.

Also, I’ve made a little bit of affiliate money! $1.50 to be exact.

We’re officially through month 3 of having a website and I gained 3 organic search clicks in the past week (yay!). So although this process feels very slow, it is creeping in the right direction.

Oh, and I was all worried last week about my website being slow and Google punishing me. I don’t care if it’s slow anymore. 🙂 Maybe one day I’ll jump back into trying to find ways to speed it up and such, but right now…I just don’t care. I’m concentrating on making it look nice and writing articles.

So here’s to staying healthy this week and being able to knock out some articles and get my homepage looking a little more “up to date” and not from 1999. 🙂

I haven’t spent much time looking into the coaching I spoke about a couple (few?) weeks ago. Being on vacation and then getting sick slowed a lot of things down. Right now I’m on website concentration, but the coaching is still very much on my radar.

I wonder if it does truly take 6+ months to see traffic on a website… Some of the articles I read say 3-6 months. I’m at the 3 month mark now….sooo…where’s the traffic…

We went and saw Sound of Freedom. Ugh that was great.

My cat is still peeing slightly outside of the litter box. I got him (it’s actually a girl but we call him a him because he acts like a boy) a “calming” collar. and it seems to be helping a bit. I think he’s stressed for some reason.

Heading to Nashville for a girls back to school shopping trip next weekend! This will be the last one for my oldest…It’s bittersweet.

This week is going to be great, guys!

Hi Jennifer. Have you asked your kids to take a look at your website and give you feedback? I asked my 19year old son to look at it and he started giving me ideas, and that’s what I’ve been working on posting to FB.

That’s a great suggestion! I use my 17 year old to help with some graphics here and there. Like Pinterest pins but never used them like I probably should be. I will! Thank you!! 🙂
