Hi everyone! Crazy week here.

I spent a whole lot of time going through old posts. I hadn’t realize how far I had come in 4ish months until I went back and read some of my early on posts.

I used crappy images or hardly any images at all. I created super long paragraphs that I couldn’t even read myself. I didn’t realize how to break up into heading groups.

I also didn’t have any WordPress tools to help me with SEO.

So I only wrote two new articles this week because I was so stuck going back through the old. Making an old post better takes almost as much time as creating something from scratch.

I also have an eye infection. I had to take my contacts out and I’m on strict glasses usage for a few more days. I almost feel crippled without having contacts in.

As for Google searches, they’ve picked up a bit but zero organic clicks.

I believe the reason for the uptick is the fact that I went into Google Console and made sure all of my articles were indexed. At least 10 were not so I manually requested indexing.

My articles have shown up 109 times in searches, but my average position is in the 40’s so no clicks. I am super happy I’m showing up more though so this isn’t a loss.

As for Bing, I looked on there and I don’t show up in searches at all. Kind of strange I think but I’ve got a lot of other things on my plate so I’m not going to spend time looking into it.

For affiliate marketing, I still only have Amazon. There’s one I really want to write an article about but they haven’t said yes or no on my application and it’s been over a month. I’ve made $2.92 on Amazon so far. 🙂

Other ways to earn an income on here…. I still have the coaching in mind. I’ve put it on the side for a bit as back to school with the kids, trying to clean up old articles, and getting a new puppy have all caused my time to be stretched thin.

For the first time in a while, I don’t have articles I’ve already started working on. There are 0 articles I have planned at the moment. I have gotten a bit behind with writing. However, I’m spending a lot more time on my articles than I used to. Quality over quantity, right?

I’ve also been thinking about creating an eBook based upon some of my articles. Something to offer people who come to the website. I’ve done some research and I like the idea of it.

I have this vision of quitting my 9-5ish job in less than 10 years and retiring early because I’ve created such a fantastic side hustle. Will it happen? Maybe not. However, I read that most bloggers are knocked out in the first few months because they give up.

I haven’t been close to giving up, but I have been discouraged at times.

I think evolving and learning from my mistakes is important. I’m trying to keep a close eye on what works. Especially on Google and Pinterest. I don’t have the time to concentrate on much else.

So to wrap this up, let’s start keeping track of a few things at the bottom of Update Posts.

I like how you go back to prior work and see how you can tweak things up (I should do this myself). It’s great to write down your goals!
